The area is famous for rivers, caves and karst mountains. The current population amounts to 49.6 million inhabitants. The economy is mainly based on the primary sector, and automotive industry is also well-developed. Liuzhou is the main industrial center and a motor vehicle manufacturing hub, base of the multinational General Motors. GDP of the province is USD 305 B with growth 6% in 2019. Guangxi borders Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin.
